O ACE-031 age como receptor-isca solúvel: circula no sangue e se liga à miostatina e ativinas antes que estes atinjam seus receptores celulares. A miostatina é o principal limitador do crescimento muscular — camundongos sem miostatina têm o dobro de massa muscular. Ao neutralizar a miostatina, o ACE-031 permite crescimento muscular além do limite genético normal. O domínio Fc prolonga a meia-vida para ~2 semanas. Original in PT-BR
