A Glutationa atua em múltiplos mecanismos: (1) ANTIOXIDANTE: doa elétrons para neutralizar ROS (espécies reativas de oxigênio) diretamente, e serve como substrato para a glutationa peroxidase. (2) DETOXIFICAÇÃO: a glutationa-S-transferase conjuga GSH a toxinas, drogas e metabólitos para excreção. (3) RECICLAGEM: regenera vitaminas C e E oxidadas de volta à forma ativa. (4) IMUNE: mantém o equilíbrio redox dos linfócitos, essencial para resposta imune adequada. (5) MITOCONDRIAL: protege a mitocôndria contra dano oxidativo.
